Recipes to Spice Up Your Coffee

How do you satisfy a real craving for coffee? Yes, being a regular drinker of coffee, your daily dose of this might cause you to get tired of the same old boring taste. Most people drink coffee either black, with sugar or with cream. Well, you don’t really have many choices left. There is a wide variety of coffee drinks available at Starbucks if you have the money to spend. But what if you do not have the money? Or what if you simply want to stay at home and curl up in your bed with a cup of coffee?

 

The most important thing is to start with a good coffee maker. These will give you a whole new coffee experience in the comfort of your own home, perhaps even in your pajams. There are the classic coffee recipes such as espresso, cappuccino, macchiato, and mocha. Spicing these up just a bit will open a whole new world of coffee flavors to you.

 

- Amaretto coffee. Who would have thought that almond would taste so good in coffee? You can think of it as a way of spicing up amaretto, or the other way around. They’re a match made in heaven! To black coffee, add amaretto starting with just a tablespoon and add according to your taste.

 

- Espresso Martini. This is another liquor-coffee infusion. Vodka in your coffee will add a little kick. Start with a cup of espresso; add kahlua, crème de cacao, and vodka according to your taste. This is best served cold.

 

- Mexican mocha is a little exotic. This is one recipe to try if you want to add an infusion of spices to your coffee. Take your regular coffee, add 1 tsp. of chocolate syrup, 1/4 tsp. cinnamon, nutmeg, sugar and whipped cream. Enoying this hot beverage will really satisfy you.

 

- Coffee float is the coffee version of the root beer float. This recipe may be something your kids would enjoy, but remember to cut back on the caffeine if serving this to them. Take your regular coffee, add sugar and cream and then chill. Serve with ice cream.

 

- Orange coffee. Surprisingly, fruit flavors go well in coffee. If you want that tang in your coffee, try putting oranges or even lemon in your cup or mug. Add one cup coffee to one cup hot chocolate. Place orange slices into each cup. You may choose to top it off with whipped cream and cinnamon.

 

- Tiramisu. This is the best option for you if you are not a coffee drinker but just want to have your regular coffee fix. People are really paying attention because of the creamy texture and rich taste of this coffee-based dessert.
